“The total liberation and unification of Africa under an All-African Socialist Government must be the primary objective of all Black revolutionaries throughout the world. It is an objective which, when achieved, will bring about the fulfillment of the aspirations of Africans and people of African descent everywhere. It will at the same time advance the triumph of the international socialist revolution, and the onward progress towards world communism, under which, every society is ordered on the principle of –from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.” — Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah

Pan-African Women's Day - Guinea-Bissau

Saturday, 28 July 2018 – An ideological seminar on the role of African Women in the Anti-colonialist Struggle was held at the PAIGC National Headquarters. African women delivered ideological presentations pointing out that after all the sacrifices to end colonialism, African women still remain the slaves of slaves. The PAIGC provides the instruments for African women’s emancipation. And when the PAIGC has State Power, women have more power.

The Amilcar Cabral Political-Ideological Training School gives systematic political-ideological training to increase revolutionary consciousness for children, men, women, workers, intelligentsia together with the instrument of ORGANIZATION (Organization of Abel Djassi Pioneers for children – OPAD; Amilcar Cabral African Youth (JAAC) for youth; the Women’s Democratic Union (UDEMU));.

Monday, 30 July 2018 – The PAIGC Women’s Wing, UDEMU, together with MIGUILAN and various women’s organizations are holding a day of reflection at the Voice of Peace Office in Bissau (photos + video clip below)

Tuesday, 31 July 2018 –

UDEMU, together with various women’s organizations that are part of the Women’s International Democratic Federation (WIDF); the National Women’s Council; and the Women’s Forum held a march from Heroine/Heroes’ Plaza to the Titina Sila Plaza where a ceremony took place. From there the march went to the Heroine/Heroes’ Camp (Gravesite) at the Amura and to the Pindjiguiti Port where a Tribute to Winnie Mandela was held.

Now, women are at the National People’s Assembly lobbying for legislation that requires 40% quota for women in political power positions – as Members of Parliament, Government, et al. (Photos + Videos below):
