The All-African Women’s Revolutionary Union (AAWRU) organized Pan-African Women’s Day (PAWD) activities on 3 continents starting from the 31st of July throughout the month of August: 31 July 2012– Pan-Africanist Women’s Day was organized in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, West Africa. Organized by the AAPRP and UDEMU (Democratic Union of Guinean Women) in collaboration with the National Working Women’s Council of the National Trade Union and the National Anti-Coup Front (FRENAGOLPE). 4th August 2012 – Pan-African Women’s Day was organized at Howard University in Washington, D.C., US by the All-African Women’s Revolutionary Union (AAWRU) of the AAPRP under the theme: “Empowering African/Black Women: For Ourselves, Families, Communities and Africa!! We celebrate the contributions of African women worldwide in Africa, North, Central and South America and the Caribbean.” Pictures from the event can be seen here 11 August 2012 – Pan-African Women’s Day was organized at the Krst Unity Center in Los Angeles, California, US by the AAWRU / AAPRP under the theme: “Empowering African/Black Women: For Ourselves, Families, Communities and Africa!! 25 August 2012-Pan-African Women’s Day was organized at Spelman College in Atlanta, US by the AAWRU/AAPRP under the Theme: “Honoring Sisters from the past: “Charting a course for the future.”
