“The total liberation and unification of Africa under an All-African Socialist Government must be the primary objective of all Black revolutionaries throughout the world. It is an objective which, when achieved, will bring about the fulfillment of the aspirations of Africans and people of African descent everywhere. It will at the same time advance the triumph of the international socialist revolution, and the onward progress towards world communism, under which, every society is ordered on the principle of –from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.” — Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah

PAIGC Comrades,

We hope this letter finds you in the best of revolutionary spirits and health. The All-African People’s Revolutionary Party and the All-African Women’s Revolutionary Union would like to congratulate the African Party of Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde (PAIGC) and its PAI Terra Ranka coalition on their historic win of an absolute majority of seats in the recent parliamentary elections .

The A-APRP and the PAIGC are one. Victory for the PAIGC is victory for the A-APRP. PAIGC dominating the polls is a victory for all Africans throughout the world who strive for control of territory on the continent of Africa, our home. It is an example of how the people, organized, can achieve power over our lives and land.

The A-APRP/A-AWRU especially congratulates UDEMU and JAAC for the role they play in the work of the PAIGC. The women and youth of Guinea linked to the working African masses constitute the heart and soul of the struggle for the future of Guinea Bissau and All-Africa.

The A-APRP stands with the PAIGC in good times and in bad. We were with you at our first historic congress earlier this year. We were with you in years past resisting intimidation, manipulation, invasion of the PAIGC national headquarters with tear gas, kidnappings, armed assault and political repression. We are always with you in the city and villages, schools, at headquarters, and on the streets. We are proud to stand now with the PAIGC in victory at the ballot. We salute the people of Guinea Bissau, the PAIGC, and our coalition partners.

This historic victory is a major step in the struggle to bring true liberty, unity and self determination to Guinea Bissau, West Africa, the African continent, and the world. And while this victory is certainly major, it is only a step towards dismantling the neo-colonial system that locks Guinea Bissau in poverty, illegal governance, economic depression and social oppression.

Though we are elated by our success, we know that the most important step we take is always the next one. We know that the neo-colonialist puppets of imperialism will do anything to impose themselves on the people of Guinea Bissau. We know the contempt imperialism holds for the PAIGC. Even in such uncertain times we are sure that capitalism and imperialism will not relent, will not retreat, and will not surrender to the interests of the people. We are confident that the organized people of the PAIGC, together with political coordination of other true revolutionary parties, will defeat neocolonialism.

Accordingly, the PAIGC, along with other true revolutionary Parties and the A-APRP will continue to resist until final victory. The struggle is eternal. Our culture of resistance, exemplified in the PAIGC, is our assurance of victory. We stand ready to do whatever we can to establish the People’s Government to transform Guinea Bissau into a liberated zone.

VIVA PAIGC!

VIVA A-APRP!

VIVA Guinea Bissau!

Aluta Continua!
